Workshop Description:
Educators have been learning how to use the power of Kingian Nonviolence to transform their classrooms into communities of peace and understanding. There has never been a more urgent need to consider how Dr. King’s principles of nonviolence and strategies to reconcile conflict can be harnessed to support the needs of all learners. Nonviolent Schools RI ‘s 2022 Summer Institute is the premiere professional development experience for educators who desire to create a more inclusive, community-based learning community. The Institute is a powerful, multi-disciplinary gathering designed for Kindergarten-college educators, support staff, and school leaders. It includes impactful content using inquiry-based techniques and activities to inspire educators in building equitable and just learning communities. Participants will enjoy an experience with numerous opportunities for dialogue, sharing, and learning from others, and will come away with lessons and activities to inspire students of all ages to practice a nonviolence philosophy and to address conflict using nonviolent strategies.
