Civic Engagement Workshop in Egypt

HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS of all disciplines and YOUTH ORGANIZATION STAFF are invited to apply to this cultural, professional, and intellectual exchange between educators from the United States and Egypt.

WHEN: March 23 - 31, 2010

WHERE: Cairo, Egypt with trips to renown sites throughout the country

  • Cultivate personal and professional relationships with Egyptian and American educators to promote cross-cultural collaboration and active youth participation in communities, both locally and globally
  • Participate in a practicum with educators from throughout the Middle East and North Africa to gain theoretical understanding and practical applications for incorporating concepts of civic engagement in classrooms of all disciplines and in extra-curricular activities for youth
  • Experience first-hand Egypt's culture and education system.
